Associate Professor, Human Resource Management
Dr. John McClendon is an Associate Professor of Human Resource Management at Temple University’s Fox School of Business, where he teaches in the undergraduate, MBA, Executive MBA and PhD programs. He has more than 30 years of human resource management experience, including university teaching, scholarly research, consulting and private-sector management. Prior to his academic career, he worked in multiple HR positions at International Paper Company. Dr. McClendon publishes research articles in leading management journals, conducts corporate training and teaches on-site workshops. His international experience includes regular teaching assignments at Temple’s Rome and Tokyo campuses, in the Fox School’s EMBA and programs in Singapore as well as serving as a visiting instructor at ENPC-MBA School of International Management in Paris. He has also been visiting faculty in a specialized EMBA-KPMG program at the University of Edinburgh and has directed Temple’s Master of Science in HR since 1997. Dr. McClendon has received many teaching awards at Temple, including the Andrisani Award in 1993, Musser Award for Excellence in Teaching (1999), Full-time MBAProgram Teacher of the Year (2005), the Part-time Professional MBA Faculty of the Year (2010), EMBA Faculty of the Year (2010), EMBA-Paris Faculty of the Year (2010), and Professional Part-time MBA Faculty of the Year in 2011-12. In 2006, he earned Temple’s Great Teacher Award, the university’s highest honor.
