About Dr. Gottlieb
Known as the Excel Guru, Dr. Gottlieb is the author of the book Next Generation Excel: Modeling in Excel for Analysts and MBAs (Wiley Finance, 2012) and has trained over 10,000 analysts and professionals from leading multinational companies and from small private business corporations on the use of computer tools for risk analysis and decision making. He holds a Ph.D., a Master of Philosophy and a Master of Science from Columbia University in New York (USA). He is a professor at Temple University (Philadelphia) and is in charge of its graduate programs in China and Singapore.
A business professional with 30 years of experience gained at Fortune 500 and mid-sized companies, Professor Guglielmo has held numerous positions in a myriad of disciplines throughout his career. He has held oﬃcer, mid-management, and staﬀ positions in Accounting, Finance, Materials Management, Operations, Information Technology, and Human Resources throughout his career, and draws from this eclectic mix of experience and knowledge in dealing with the daily challenges of corporate America. He is also a Certiﬁed Six Sigma Green Belt and holds a MBTI® Certiﬁcation.
Guglielmo is currently Vice President of Talent Acquisition and Development at Genesis Health Care, a $2 billion enterprise with 40,000+ employees in 23 states. Genesis Health Care provides post-acute, rehabilitative and long-term care for more than 20,000 patients a day. In 2011, he was named HR Person of the Year for the Philadelphia area.
About Dr. Mark Gershon
Dr. Gershon is the chairman of the Management Science and Operations Management department. An industrial engineer by training, he began his career as a quality engineer with the Project Management oﬃce at the Army's Armaments Development Command. He then worked as a project manager for Control Data Corporation, responsible for software development applications and consulting projects for the minerals industry, before coming to Temple in 1983. Since then, Dr. Gershon has focused on developing and implementing new ideas for project management and quality management. Besides earning a Professional Engineer's license, he holds certiﬁcation as a Project Management Professional and a Six Sigma Master Black Belt. He consults and gives seminars on these topics around the world. Dr. Gershon has published widely, including two textbooks and over thirty refereed journal articles. In 2002, he was keynote speaker at a conference in China, and has served on the editorial boards of international journals. An excellent teacher, he has been honored with the Lindback Award for Teaching by Temple.
